With over 25 years of experience in hotel design, Mr. George Wong founded his namesake design firm in New York City in 2006. The Shanghai office is established in 2009. He headed up the New York office of Yabu Pushelberg from ’02 to ’06, and directed the designs for the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Moscow, Russia; St. Regis Hotel at Bal Harbor, Florida; the Palms Place Condo Hotel Spa, Fiamma Trattoria and the West Wing Hotel rooms, all in Las Vegas, Nevada. In New York City, projects include the Dos Caminos Restaurant, the Cafeteria at HBO, and the Stone Rose Bar at Time Warner Center. Prior to Yabu Pushelberg, he was the key designer for the New York firm of Brennen Beer Gorman Monk where he completed the designs for the renovation of a number of full service hotels such as Renaissance, Hyatt and Marriott hotels. Before moving to New York in 1999, he founded the firm KWSG in Hong Kong, and had been at key positions with Chhada Siembieda and Partners in Long Beach, California, Chhada Siembieda & Associates, and Dale Keller Associates in Hong Kong. He had completed world renowned projects including the Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay, Bali, and the Far Eastern Plaza (Shangri-La) Hotel in Taipei. GEORGEWONGDESIGN has recently completed Club “1949” in Beijing, China, the Sports Lounge 40/40 Club in Las Vegas, renovation of the Function Areas of The Westin Time Square in New York. Current projects include the new Sheraton Tribeca Hotel, New York; the Element Hotel in Manhattan, New York; the Park Hyatt Chennai, India; F&B areas in the Hyatt Regency Bogota, Columbia, and the renovations of Premier Suites at the Grand Hyatt New York. |
